Helen Elizabeth O’Neill (Finch)age 85
Helen was born to George and Janet Finch on August 9, 1935, the eldest of 11 children. On January 9, 1960 she married her best friend John (Jack) O’Neill and together they brought five sons, Tony (Cathy), Keith, James (Angela), Paul (Mildred) Craig (Denyse)and two daughters Judy (Damian) Janet (Stefan) into the world. While Jack worked hard to provide for his family Helen worked tirelessly to raise their seven children and to keep the home running smoothly. She was a mother that made certain that each child had everything they needed even when it meant she must do without. Helen always ensured that supper was ready for the family to eat together when her husband arrived home from a hard days work. She was also a wonderful grandmother to 11, Natasha, Gillian, Murrissa, Katelynn, Frank, Michael, Christina, Meghan, Benjamin, Eva and Daniel and great-grandmother as well. She dearly loved each and everyone of them.
Helen was a member of the Mary Queen of the World Parish and spent many years volunteering as a Eucharistic Minister and was active with the Catholic Women’s League.
A special thank you to a very dear friend and caregiver Shannon Martin for the endless care for Helen and the support given to Keith.
Helen was reunited with her parents George and Janet, her loving husband Jack, her darling son Paul, siblings William and Esther and nephew Stephen on Wednesday, December 16,2020. She will be remembered for her caring and loving ways as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and she will be missed by all. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 Lemarchant Road on Sunday, December 20,2020 from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday, December 21st at 10 a.m. from Mary Queen of the World Church with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
