1941-2020
Hanson T. « Hansie »
Webb – 78, Economy.
With saddened hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband,
father and grandfather that occurred on Sunday morning, February 2,
2020, at his home. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late
Stewart and Charlotte (Langille) Webb.
Hansie loved and took pride in all aspects of his life. He
was an accomplished carpenter and belonged to Local 83 (1392)
Carpenter’s Union; many homes in the area are a testament of
his craftsmanship. Hansie loved four-wheeling and going to the camp
« over the hill » with his buddies, bass fishing and
hunting; he spent many hours tinkering around or entertaining friends
at his cherished camp. He loved his community and his friends and
always had time for a smile or a chat or to offer advice, even if it
wasn’t the advice that you wanted to hear!
Hansie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Elizabeth
« Betty » (Matthews); son, Kevin (Angela), Monson,
Massachusetts, USA; grandson, Robert (Alexis), Monson, Massachusetts,
USA; great granddaughters, Abigail and Paisleigh; brother, Marvin
Webb; sister, Shirley Tanner; several nieces and nephews. Along with
his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Helen, Minnie,
Virginia, Eleanor; brothers, Owen, Wylie, Leo, Norman, Mert, Israel,
Elonzo, Minus, James.
Special thanks are extended to family doctor, Dr. Don Rowe,
Dr. David Henderson and Angela from Palliative Care and Emily and Lynn
from VON.
Private interment will be held at a later date in Mahon
Cemetery, Great Village. If so desired, donations in
Hansie’s memory to Lung Association of Nova Scotia are
welcomed.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Private messages of
condolence may be sent to the family by viewing Hansie’s
