MINSTER, Golda – Peacefully at her home on December 6, 2020, surrounded by her family, Golda Minster (nee Dlugonoga), passed away. Golda was born in Lodz, Poland on December 15, 1925 from a family of six children, all who miraculously survived the ghetto under Nazi occupation until its liberation in 1945. She married her beloved Gedale in 1947, who passed on November 1, 1984. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Abraham (Ronda), Richard (Sonia), Sara (David), and Roza (David). Adored grandmother of Ryan (Amanda), Joshua (Rebecca), Aaron (Diana), Arielle (David), Adam (Nicole), Jason (Tess), Cierra, Brittney (Ilya), Justin (Melissa), Lauren (Aaron), Jordan, Matthew (Danielle) and Shayne (Lauren). Great-grandmother to Noah, Ethan, Chayla, Yitzhak, Avery, Jacob, Katelyn, Sadie, and Lea. She will be missed by her brother Yankel (Perla) and sister Rosa in Argentina. Special thanks to Lilli and Marlon who treated her as if she was their own mother. Thanks to Dr. Jennifer Shapiro and nurse Miriam and all the PSW’s who took such good care of her. Golda was a quiet but strong woman with an overriding moral ethic. From Poland, to Israel, and finally Canada, her story of endurance through the Holocaust and beyond will forever be an inspiration to her family. May she find peace reuniting with her departed loved ones. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 7, 2020. Memorial donations may be made to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Odette Cancer Centre (416) 480-4483 or Baycrest Foundation Adult Day Programs (416) 785-2875
