Glenna J. Carter
1926-2020
The death of Glenna J. Carter, wife of the late James O.
Carter, occurred at the Grand Falls General Hospital on Tuesday
January 7, 2020. Glenna was born in 1926 in Ortonville, New
Brunswick. She was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Watson)
Gallagher.
She is survived by her sister Dorothy Gallagher and nieces:
Rose Marie (Vince Brown) and her children Bryce (Kathy) and Joel
(Megan); Betty (Winston Anthony) and her children Tennyson (Kelly),
Craig (Kelly) and Heather (Dominic Carlow); Barbara Gallagher and her
son Douglas (Staci)
and her nephew Dwight Gallagher. Along with
several Great Grand nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband Leigh Watson, her
brothers Stewart (Pauline), Wendell (Gladys), Vernon and sister Greta
(Willie Gagnon), niece Elizabeth Ann Gagnon Stickles (Dwight) and
nephew Percy Gagnon (killed in Vietnam war).
Glenna was a cosmetologist. Glenna will be
remembered for her deep faith and love of God, her love of music (she
played the piano and organ in several local and Arkansas churches).
She loved to reminisce and enjoyed entertaining and talking with
visitors and friends. She loved to cook and could often be found
discussing recipes or reading her numerous cookbooks.
She was a life long member of the Ortonville Baptist
Church. She enjoyed military life and living in several
different locations because of it. She lived in Arkansas for
several years.
A funeral service will be held for family and friends on
Saturday, January 11th at 3 p.m. at the Guy O’Regan Funeral Home, 515
Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with Pastor Jean Lasanté
officiating. Interment will be in the Ortonville Baptist
Cemetery at a later date.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at the
funeral home on Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m.
