Born Thursday, June 17, 1920 in Rawdon Township and peacefully entered into rest on Wednesday, November 25th, 2020 at the Belleville General Hospital, Gladys McGregor of Stirling died at the age of 100 surrounded by the love of her family. She was the daughter of the late Arthur & Lena Burkitt (nee Reid) and the wife of the late Harry McAdam and the late George McGregor. Gladys was the cherished mother of David McAdam (Olive) of Oshawa, Diane Titford (Neal) of Burlington, Fred McAdam (Connie) of Belleville and Betty Nelson (late Leslie) of Stirling. She will be missed by George’s children Barb Crawford (Don), Betty Howard (Jack) and the late Walter McGregor and the late Glen McGregor. Gladys was predeceased by her siblings Mabel Dickie, William Burkitt, Gerald Burkitt, Margaret Meneely and Reginald Burkitt. Gladys will be missed by her 11 grandchildren: Velda, Lynn, Sherry & Jason, Adam & Bill, Kimberly, Lisa and Matthew, Cheryl & Jeff, by her 3 step-grandchildren: Michael, Matthew and Marcus and by her 15 great-grandchildren She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and friends from the Stirling Towers, Mount Pleasant Church and the Stirling area.
A Private Family Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at the John R. Bush Funeral Home, 80 Highland Avenue, Belleville (613-968-5588) with Pastor Rodney Smith officiating. Spring Inurnment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Stirling. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family.
