Gertrude Marie (Alward) Doyle of Barnaby River, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her residence on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at the age of 82.
Born in Barnaby River, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Stella (Hackett) Alward. She worked as a homecare provider, and was a member of the Bowling Club and Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, in Barnaby River.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Tracy Doyle (John Dinan) of Barnaby River; seven sisters Grace, Barbara, Margaret, Judy, Mary, Carol Ann, and Constance (Manuel Brennan) all of Ontario; five brothers Joseph (Joe) of Toronto, Tommy of Toronto, Charlie (Sandra) of Barnaby River, Keith (Linda) of Barnaby River, and Donald (Don) of PEI; her grandson Grayson and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Richard Doyle, son Joseph Doyle, infant son Jimmy; and brother John (Jackie) Alward.
The family will receive relatives and friends from The Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, in Barnaby River, on Sunday, October 4, 2020, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Social Distancing restrictions must be observed and wearing of a mask is strongly encouraged.
A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 5, 2020, at 11 am, from The Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Barnaby River, with Father Anthony Dass Papu officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to The Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church Cemetery Fund.
