Though Georgina battled many health challenges through her life, she always had a smile and carefree attitude no matter what struggles she faced. Georgina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt.
Family was everything to Georgina. As the second child and eldest daughter in her family, Georgina always looked out for her siblings. She also loved to tease them whenever she could, and joked that one sister had heart shaped lips just like her, or another had gray hair whereas Georgina’s was just naturally dark and flowing without any gray.
During her adulthood, Georgina became an amazing chef and lived in Saskatoon. There, she met the love of her life, Richard, in 1962. The couple married and had one daughter, Sherry. After living in Saskatchewan and Alberta, in 1983, Georgina, Richard and Sherry moved to and settled in the Yukon. There Georgina worked as a cook at Macauley Lodge care facility for 23 years and made good friends with staff and residents who have many fond memories and stories to share of her.
Georgina was always so proud of all her family’s accomplishments. Her family all knew they were loved and thought of daily by her.
Georgina enjoyed the outdoors with her family, especially fishing for which she won many trophies. She also enjoyed camping and going for walks near the river. Over the years, Georgina had many cooking competitions with Richard and family, especially during Christmas.
Georgina is missed and loved greatly by her husband of 58 years, Richard, daughter Sherry, grandchildren Jayla (Brian), Shayna (Mitch), Richard (Kim), Saphire, great grandchildren Roland, Desiree and Cody. She was blessed to have many special people in her life that will all miss her greatly.
