George Ernest Smith, Past President of Beatrice Foods Canada from 1985 until his retirement in 1997.
Entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital, Charles Street Site on Sunday, August 30, 2020.
Beloved husband of Jean (nee Morwick) Smith. Loving and devoted father of David (Betty) Smith, Alan (Debbie) Smith, Lois Smith (Jack Veryzer) and Robert (Nikki) Smith. Proud and special grandpa of Lori (Greg), Theresa, Amy, Curtis (Devon), Katie, Lucas and Charlie. Also survived by his sister-in-law Mary O’Brien. George was predeceased by his brother Marson and by his parents Margaret and Glenson Smith.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Thursday, September 3rd from 2-4 pm. Distancing protocols and masks are required.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the service and interment will be private for the family.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Brockville YMCA or the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.
