Obituary
George Edward Rodgers, 84, passed away peacefully at the MacGregor Palliative Care on Tuesday, December 8th, 2020 with his wife by his side. After a battle with cancer, he was eager to graduate from his temporary home into his eternal home in heaven.
George was born on January 24rth, 1936 on the family farm south of MacGregor to Arthur and Isabelle (Emerson) Rodgers. He was the youngest of three boys. His father passed away when he was only 12 and George together with his mother and brothers, Bill and John, continued to run the farm together.
In July of 1966, George married Evelyn Heppner and they started their married life together on the family farm where they continued to farm until they moved into MacGregor in 2001. The family will forever cherish the memories of growing up in the hills and the many people George would have over to visit with.
George’s quiet humble spirit touched many lives and his faith in God was always strong. In his last week he was able to talk with so many people. God showed him how he had worked through his life in so many different ways which gave overwhelming joy.
George is survived by his wife Evelyn, his sons; Mark (Tracey) and their children Jonathan, Destiny (Cardell) and great grandson Andrew, Grace (Jason) and Liberty; Paul (Kim) and their children Michala, Tiana and Madison; and Barry (Marlys) and their children Tristan (Kirsten), Shania, Damian (Leah) and Justin; and daughters Christine (Gord) and their family, Brad (Jasmine) and great grandson Elie, Tyson (Kenzie), Clayton (Kaitlyn) and Hannah (Mitchell); and Melodie (Mark) and their children Sayla, Toban and Tessa. He is also survived by his brothers, Bill and John and their families.
The family wishes to thank all those who helped in caring for him during the last few weeks. We are so grateful for all the prayers and support from relatives and friends.
