Gail Marilyn Furness
1966-2020
Gail Marilyn Furness, 54, of Hillsborough passed away
peacefully on August 16th, 2020 at the Moncton
Hospital.
Gail was born in Charlottetown, PEI on February 9th, 1966
the daughter of Wyman and Liona (Smith)
VanWesterneng.
Gail worked as a dental assistant in her earlier
years. She last worked for Canada Post in the Village of
HIllsborough at the local post office, where she made many
friends. She always greeted everyone with a smile.
Gail’s main priority in life was her children. She was always there
for them and they knew if they needed anything their mom would try and
make it happen. Gail had a beautiful personality and will be
remembered for her kindness and huge heart. During her
illness she showed people her strength and determination, she was
amazing. She would want everyone to think of all
the good times and laughs they shared over the years. Gail
made a lasting impression of everyone she met and she is now flying
high with the angels.
She will be deeply missed by her mother, Liona
VanWesterneng of PEI; husband and friend, Doug Furness of
Hillsborough; her cherished children, Matthew Furness and Alyson
Furness both of Hillsborough; sisters, Sandra VanWesterneng (Ted
Crighton), Vickie Sentner (Marvyn Parkman) and brother Erwin
VanWesterneng (Linda) ; her sisters-in-law, Shirley Wilson (Carl),
Sharon Vos (Benny), Margaret MacLeod (David) and Marlene MacRae
(Jeff); brothers-in-law, Arthur Furness (Sheila) and Milton Furness
all of PEI. She will also be missed by several nieces,
nephews and by many good friends.
She was predeceased by her father, Wyman VanWesterneng;
brother, Billy VanWesterneng and brother-in-law, David
Sentner; In-laws, Fred and Alice Furness and brother-in-law,
Elwood Furness
Honoring Gail’s own wishes there will be a private family
service at the Albert County Funeral Home.
For those who wish donations in Gail’s memory to the
charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
