Frederick Hounsell
June 8th, 1951 – August 20th, 2020
Passed peacefully away, Thursday, August 20th, 2020 at home with his loving wife, Shirley, son John and daughter, Charlene and his family and friends by his side, Frederick Hounsell of Hare Bay, age 69.
Predeceased by his parents George and Ellen Hounsell, brother Eli and brother in law, Alpheaus Collins.
Left with fond and loving memories is his wife Shirley, son John (Tracey), daughter Charlene (Billy), grandchildren, Jonathan (Taya), Jenna and Cole. Brothers Stephen (Viola), Lloyd (Cherry), sister Charlotte and many nephews and nieces and other family and friends whom he loved dearly.
Fred married the love of his life Shirley on June 5th, 1971. They were married for 49 years creating loving memories that will last a lifetime. Many family memories were made on the water on their family cabin cruiser the Shirley Charlene. He was the captain of his family, a carpenter by trade who worked hard all his life to provide his family with the best life. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with John, his brothers and his nephews. Fred loved to play the guitar and enjoy the simple pleasure of “ music and friends “ with Shirley as his main vocalist. Fred was very proud of his children and grandchildren and was always teaching them important life lessons through adventures and past stories. Fred was always there for his family, and kept us all close with a love that will be treasured forever. Fred’s traditions, knowledge and wisdom will be celebrated and continued always.
His spirit will live on in the hearts of all those he held most dear forever.
Funeral service will take place, Sunday, August 23rd, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Augustine’s Anglican Church in Hare Bay and interment will follow at St. Augustine’s Anglican Church Cemetery. Keeping with Fred’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Due to the Covid – 19 pandemic, all services will remain restricted to family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
