Freda Bannister
1939-2020
Freda Mae Banniser, 81, of Moncton,
passed away peacefully at the L.J. Jaillet Residence in Moncton, on
Friday, July 3, 2020 with her husband by her side. Born in The Glades,
she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Stella (Wilson)
Smith.
Freda was a retired office clerk with NB
Power. She was very involved in the community, volunteering with M.S.
Society, Friends of the Moncton Hospital, Canadian Red Cross (Blood
Services), Lutes Mountain Meeting House, as well as the Hillside
Baptist Church, where she was an active member. Freda cherished time
with her husband and many friends. She was a very wholesome woman who
always put others needs ahead of her own.
Survived and sadly missed by her husband
of over 50 years, Eddie Bannister; sister, Judy (Tom) Taylor;
sisters-in-law, Thelma Bustin and Margaret Smith; aunt, Laurine
Wilson; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews,
including special nephew Aaron (Tracey) Smith. In addition
to her parents, Freda was predeceased by brothers, Robert, Gerald, and
Dennis.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home
(372-4800) from where visiting will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020
from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm. Due to covid-19, social
distancing will be respected, and masks are encouraged. A private
Funeral Service will be held at a later date in the chapel with Pastor
Jerry Ready officiating. Interment in The Glades
Cemetery.
