La célébration de
Frank Yanulionis (Lions)
1 mars 1929 –
7 octobre 2020
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Frank Lions on the afternoon of Wednesday October 7, 2020 at the age of 91. After many months of failing health, he died peacefully at his Mississauga retirement residence with his beloved wife Joan by his side. Born on March 1st, 1929 in Montreal, Quebec to the late Casimir and Mary Yanulionis.
Frank was blessed to have two great loves of his life. He is preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years, Anna Ozupis Lions. He is survived and sadly lost by his second wife of 24 years, Joan Howey Lions. Frank was loved and will be profoundly missed by his three daughters, Diane (Tony Marsh), Cindy (Daniel Germain), Laura (Akram Askoul) and his grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason Ferreira), Yousef (Adriana Moraru) and Ahmad.
Frank had an incredible work ethic and ambition for life. As a young man, he worked his way up from entry level positions to executive roles. With his dedication, hard work and quick wits, he became CEO of Richard & B.A. Ryan General Contractors. He was proud and passionate for all of his work projects across Canada.
Frank will be fondly remembered and cherished for his unwavering love and dedication to his family. His talent to captivate and engage an entire room with his brilliant story telling and sense of humour will be severely missed. He was an avid sports watcher, loved fishing, a fan of Cadillacs, enjoyed spending warm days on the golf course and appreciated a good quality scotch or martini in hand. He was a proud Lithuanian Canadian.
There is no doubt that Frank lived a full life. He raised a beautiful family with his first wife Anna where they worked hard to save every penny to give their children every opportunity. They spent cherished summers at their peaceful farm in Knowlton, Quebec with lasting happy memories. Frank met his second wife Joan and she opened his eyes and heart to the world. They spent their retired years travelling all over the world from the corners of Portugal to the Great Wall of China to the African safaris and to the tropics of the Galapagos Islands. Frank’s life was a deep and incredible journey filled with many milestones.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family funeral will be held at the Lithuanian Martyrs Church.
For those who wish, donations can be made to Parkinson Canada or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
