Memorial Donation
Elizabeth Redelback, beloved wife of the late Christian Redelback, passed away at her home near Brooks on Thursday January 16th, 2020 at the age of 100 years. Elizabeth was born in Mehtelek Szatmar Megye, Hungary on February 27th, 1919 to Gabriel and Vera Varady. Elizabeth received her education in Mankota, Saskatchewan, where she lived with her family. She married Chris Redelback on November 20th, 1938 and they began farming and fishing after living in Brooks for a short time. They later moved to North Head gates, Lake Newell in 1941. She was very involved with the chores of tending to the livestock and deeply loved gardening, raising sheep and chickens, and cooking. Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered by all her family. She was predeceased by her husband Chris on March 30th, 1974; son Dale; brother Gabriel and her sister Bertha. She is survived by her loving children, Ron and his wife Judy; daughter Janet and her husband Lloyd Mapes; grandchildren Landon, Hayden, Shea, Haylie, Laurie, Warren, Amber, Barry, Shane; great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 24th from Brooks Cemetery. Pastor Don Gries officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held following the Graveside Service at the EID Legion, Brooks.
