Elizabeth (Betty) Was born to Earl William (Casey) and Mary Elizabeth Patterson. She was the 3rd oldest of 9. She was raised on the farm in Gatsby Alberta. Mom had a Strong Will her Spirit will live in us Forever. Her brothers always fondly said you better be behaving yourself with Betty or you’re going to get a Whooping. As a child she travelled through Canada and the USA in an old model T with her 8 siblings and Mother and Father. Her Father was on the World Champion Rodeo Circuits. Mom loved horses and was well versed in handling and training horses. Our Mom worked hard all her life. She was an amazing gardener and she always had a stunning yard of beautiful flowers and vegetables. She took great pride in the care of her home and gardens. She was also a skilled cook and baker, best known for her fried chicken and homemade delicious donuts. Elizabeth (Betty) self-taught herself to read, write, and sew. She was a Brilliant Seamstress. Her family affectionately called her Dr. Powley as she attended and completed her studies in Reflexology, she was well versed on all herbal and plant remedies for healing.
Elizabeth (Betty) Mother, Will be sorely missed by all who knew her. The last few years of her life was a struggle, she often said I would like to miss this part of my life. She will be remembered for who she was and how she lived, A strong and striking Beauty approaching the world with a unique boldness and grace, seizing every opportunity to experience something new and never letting circumstances get her down for very long. Those of us who enjoyed the pleasure of her company, she wanted us to accept the Lord into our lives, and too experience living, the big things and the little things, the sunsets and the sunrises.
May She (Our Mom) Rest in Peace and May the Memory of her smile live on in those of us who will never forget her.
