Eleanor Rae (McLean) Blacquier
1938-2020
Eleanor Rae (McLean) Blacquier, wife of the late Reginald Blacquier of Losier Hall, formerly of Nelson-Miramichi, passed away at her residence on January 2nd, 2020 at age of 81.
Born in Miramichi, Eleanor was the daughter of the late William and Theresa (Walsh) McLean. Eleanor was a homemaker, a member of the CWL of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church and Nelson Senior’s Group.
Eleanor is survived by three daughters: Roxanne Regan (Ralph) of Bushville, NB, Sherri Lynn MacKnight (Tony) of Douglastown, NB and Joyce Shaddick (Ronnie) of Fredericton, NB; one son: Raymond Blacquier (Darlene) of Nelson-Miramichi, NB; one sister: Jeanne Hamilton (Terry) of Bedford, NS; three brothers: Alman McLean (Rita) of Oromocto, NB, Richard McLean (Shirley) of Saint John, NB as well as Loran McLean (Jessie) of Quispamsis, NB; nine grandchildren: Carrie, Bradley, Megan, Jenna, Riley, Haleigh-Rae, Ethan, Luke and Nate; one great grandson: Mekai as well as several nieces and nephews.
Eleanor is predeceased by her parents: William and Theresa (Walsh) McLean; husband Reginald; son: Robert; two sisters: Paula and Joanne as well as one brother: Joseph.
Visitation will be held at Bell’s Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi on Sunday, January 5th from 2-4 and 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Nelson-Miramichi on Monday, January 6th at 11 AM with Father John Keoughan officiating. Burial will take place in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, in Eleanor’s memory, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Multiple Sclerosis.
