Memorial Donation
Elaine Beatrice MacMaster of Port Shoreham, N.S passed away as a result of a car accident on October 1st, 2020.
Born in Toronto, Ontario Elaine was predeceased by her parents Douglas and Loyola Halfpenny, in-laws Abner and Florence MacMaster, and sister Carol White.
Elaine graduated from the Victoria General Hospital. She worked as an RN at the VG and Guysborough Memorial Hospital, where she became the Diabetic Educator and eventually the Facility Manager of Guysborough Memorial and Eastern Memorial Hospital in Canso until her retirement.
Elaine was a member of the Boylston United Church, Nova Scotia Nurses Union, former member of the Chedabucto Chapter of the Eastern Star and she was a very proud member of the Port Shoreham Pirates.
Elaine was survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Gary MacMaster, sons Andrew(Mandi) of Spruce Grove, AB, Steven (Marigold) of Antigonish, NS, Nicole (Michael) and Meghan (Alexander) both of Fort McMurray, AB, and her furry soulmate Buddy of Heifer Hill. Grandchildren: Bryden, Rylan, Jackson, Cole, Hailey, Noah, Hannah, Violet, Blake and Bentley. Siblings: Marilyn(Peter) of Lawrencetown, Michael (Darlene) of Pleasant Valley, Blair (Charlene) of Edmonton, Paul (Julie) of Pictou, Rod White of Kettle Point; a special connection with Uncle Junior of Saskatchewan and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Green’s Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. There will be a visitation Wednesday, October 7th 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the Boylston Community Centre. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, October 8th at the Port Shoreham Provincial Park Beach at 3pm, with Rev. Heather Manuel officiating. Covid 19 protocols will be respected. Donations may be made to the Boylston Community Centre, Guysborough Memorial Hospital or a charity of your choice.
Elaine lived with passion and a ferocious drive – her relentless pursuit to improve the quality of Health Services in the area came to fruition with the completion of the Dr. Anita Foley Health Service Center. Her contributions will continue to serve the community she loved so much. Above all else, Elaine’s greatest pride and accomplishment was her family. Her generous loving spirit will live on through them and all who were blessed by her love.
