Douglas Jerry « Doug » Corbin
Douglas Jerry « Doug » Corbin – age 65,
of New Minas, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 22, 2020
in the Valley Regional Hospital,
Kentville. Born in Lower West Pubnico, he was a son of the late
Sidney and Rose (Doucette) Corbin. Doug had been employed at Oxford
Frozen Foods and also did storefront snow removal. He was an active
member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville and
enjoyed fishing, darts and picking
berries. He is survived by daughter, Jeannie (John) Rempel, Port
Williams; son, Malcolm (Shannon), Berwick; grandchildren, Macayla,
Mary, Angela, Tyler, Chad, Amberlea, Taylor, Bridgit, Jesse, Alexis;
sisters, Rose (Tim) Thomson, Hantsport; Susan (Andrew) Vinters,
Ottawa; Tina Corbin (Johnny), Kentville; brothers, Robert (Sylvia)
Corbin, Coldbrook; Wayne Corbin, Kentville; Terry (Daryl) Muise, New
Minas; Eugene (Louise) Corbin, Kentville; Cecil (Carrie) Corbin,
Wolfville; several nieces and nephews, including special nephews,
Baden and Nick and special niece, Aimee; great-nephew,
Teegan. He was predeceased by his common-law spouse, Blanche
Eva Sawler; sister, Seretha Corbin-Prieston and brother, Earl, in
infancy. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday,
February 26, 2020 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where a
combined Royal Canadian Legion and funeral service will be held at
2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2020, Pastor Christina Bigelow
officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held at the
Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville. Burial will take
place at a later date in the Willow Bank Cemetery, Wolfville.
Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the
Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
