Dorothy « Dolly » Byrne
July 01, 1943 – November 19, 2020
It is with heavy hearts and infinite sorrow that we announce the passing of Dorothy (Dolly) Byrne on November 19, 2020 at Palliative Care.
Beloved wife, mother, best nan ever, and great-grandmother, she is predeceased by her loving husband Robert (Bob) November 16, 2020, parents James and Dorothy Keats, mother-in-law Ivy and father-in-law Robert, as well as brothers Kenneth, Frederick, sister Rosemary and brother-in-law Cyril Foley.
Left with beautiful and cherished memories sons Donald (Shelley), Dennis (Gail) and Darrin. Grandchildren Kayla (Eddie), Robert, Kristen, Julia (Charles), Mitchell (Meaghan), Bradley (Kayla) and great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Jasper, Cillian and Lilly. Also left to mourn her brothers Jim (Renata), Robert (Ruby), Gerald (Marge), Ron (Yvonne) and sisters Catherine Redding (John – deceased) and Diane, as well as sisters-in-law (and sisters in heart), Patricia Martin (Mike) and Linda Shannon (Peter) and brother-in-law David Byrne (Brenda – deceased, Jane) as well as many nieces (Karen, Lori, Sarah) and nephews (Michael, David, Shane) and extended family and friends.
Dolly loved a game of bingo, a good scuff and a little ‘swallie’. But most of all she lived for her children, grandchildren (Saturday night sleep overs at Nan and Pops were a great bit of fun and a wonderful break for mom and dad!) and great-grandchildren. Family was the center of her life and today the one who anchored us to shore is leaving us. She leaves a legacy of love and laughter in her wake. She will live on in the memories of all the jokes and stories she shared with us over the years.
Following Dolly’s wishes cremation has taken place. Service to take place at a later date.
A sincere thank you to the staff at Palliative Care Miller Centre for making her last days comfortable.
In lieu of flowers donations would be gratefully accepted to Candlelighters NL in her memory.
