Obituary
Larouche, Donald (April 12, 1949 – July 15, 2020) –
Passed away peacefully at home on July 15, 2020. He was the soulmate & beloved husband of Michelle Duhamel. Devoted & dedicated father of Lynne Dolbeck (deceased Feb. 22, 2014), Serge (Tanya) of Winnipeg, MB, Luc (Michael) of St John’s Newfoundland. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Adam & Jordan Dolbeck, Donovan, Tyler, Jayden, Tiana, Christian, Ayla, Halden, Breagh & Elijah Larouche. Also survived by son-in-law Chris Dolbeck; siblings Carm Watson (Clarence), Norm (Phyllis), Sue MacDonald (Bernie), Dennis (Sherrill), Dianne Armatage (Doug), Jackie (Helen Fisher); sister-in-law Sue (Bob); brother-in-law Denis (Gerry) as well as many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Lucille Wright and brother Richard.
Don was born & raised in New Liskeard. He married his childhood sweetheart Michelle Duhamel in Oct. 1970 – short a few months of their 50th wedding anniversary. He was the son of Mae & Eugene Larouche, owners of the Empress Beauty Salon in New Liskeard. Don & Mick took over the salon in 1971. They moved to North Bay in 1982 when they bought the Modern Hairstyling School with sister Jackie. Don was continually active in the community. He was volunteer fire chief with the Tilden Lake Fire Dept. They later moved to North Bay and Don was active with VICARS. Don had ill health for many years but never complained.
As per his wishes there will be no visitation. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
Donations in memory of Don to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be appreciated by his family.
