Donald Gilbert Robitaille
Passed away at Huron Lodge on March 30, 2020 at 80 years of age. Beloved husband, best friend and soulmate of Kathy for 33 years. Loving father of Don (Shelly) and Jim (Becky). Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Branden (Rachel), Oliver, Harrison, Erica, Trevor and great grandfather of Lily and Benjamin. Dear brother of Bev (Jim) and Gary (Kim). He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Don retired after 26 years from the Art Gallery of Windsor as head of security. He was the past president of both the LaSalle Horticultural Society and the Amherstburg Horticultural Society, a former member of the Guardsmen Drum and Bugle Corp, a former member of the Windsor Tall Club and a founding member of the International Freedom Festival. We are genuinely appreciative of the care and compassion provided by the doctors, nurses and staff at Huron Lodge.
If you so desire, donations to the Parkinson’s Society of Southwestern Ontario or the Alzheimer’s Society of Windsor would be appreciated by the family.
Cremation has taken place. An interment of cremated remains to take place at Windsor Memorial Gardens beside his parents Gilbert and Gladys Robitaille. Due to the Health Unit’s recommendation limiting gatherings of no more than 10 people, a celebration of Don’s life to be held at a later date.
