Obituary
It is with sadness the family of Don Allen announce his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on December 29, 2020. Born in Tracy, NB, February 22, 1928 he was the son of the late Clarence and Grace (Duplisea) Allen. Donnie worked as a Conductor for Canadian Pacific Railway for over 40 years, retiring in 1985. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting, fishing or a game of golf at the Westfield Country Club. Donnie was a quiet reserved man who enjoyed the simple things in life like working away in his vegetable garden or time spent with family and friends. He is survived by his sons Tim (Anne) of Upham, Darrell (Tish) of Upperton and Kristen “Shawny” of Saint John; daughters Heather Condren, Celia Kelson (Larry) and Trudy Hunt (Tim) all of Saint John; brother Eddy (Linda) of BC; sisters Gwen Farnham of Saint John and Marsha Mihaluk of Moncton; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, Donnie was predeceased by his devoted wife of 64 years, Nancy (Graves) Allen (only 8 months ago), beloved son Phillip Raymond Allen; sister Eloise Costello; brothers Douglas, Mahlon “Dubby”, Fred, Kenneth and Darrell Allen.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) By request Donnie’s request there will be no visitation or service. A private family graveside service will take place at Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Donnie’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
