Kooistra, Dirk – Passed away peacefully at age 73 years at home with his family beside him on Wednesday September 30th, 2020. Beloved husband and best friend for 48 years of Donna Kooistra (Graham). Predeceased by his parents Adam and Gerbrich Kooistra of Holland. Loving father of Trevor Kooistra and Emily of Ancaster and Guelph, Anneke Kooistra, John Kooistra and Kathleen of Ottawa, and the late Greg Kooistra. Dear pake of Liam and Nolan Kooistra, Ava and Sullivan Falls, Zachary and Xavier Rochon, Elise Kooistra. Dear brother of Peter Kooistra, Andy Kooistra and Anne of Stirling. Loved by his family in Holland; sister Tietje and Frits, Jannie and Siemen, Anneke Kooistra, and the late Froukje and Monze of Holland. Loved brother-in-law of Cheryl Davidson and Garnet, Marlene Gordon, and late Doug of Madoc, Janine Parks of Belleville, Bunny Campbell and Brian, Larry Parks and Sherrie of Oshawa, John Parks and Cindy of Alberta, Clint Davidson and Carolyn of Madoc, Chad and Angel of Oshawa. Special thanks to Dr Marty Brown, Bonnie McMaster RPN, and Dr Levesque for your quick diagnosis and excellent care. We would also like to thank the Kingston Regional Cancer Centre, Dr R. Gregg, Dr Ostic, June Golding RN, Crystal RN, all the volunteers and nursing staff for excellent care and concern given to Dirk these past 3 1/2 years. We have been fortunate enough to have a wonderful, caring, and compassionate nurse, Jen Longo RPN from Paramed coming into our home weekly. Dirk always enjoyed your talks and bubbly personality. Thank you. Also, thank you to Amber Babcock NP who always helped keep Dirk comfortable. Thanks to our family, friends and neighbours for all of their help over the past four years, as Dirk fought this battle with cancer.
