It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Dina Mary Roberts at the age of 91 years. In the early morning hours of December 4th, 2020, Dina passed gently and peacefully at Hospice Wellington in Guelph, Ontario.
Beloved wife of the late Vincent J. Roberts, who passed in 1996, they married in 1958 and had six wonderful children. Dina is survived by her six loving children, Catherine, Thomas, Edward, Daniel, Patricia and Carol, her loving sister Velma Jamieson and her sister-in-law Margaret Campagnolo. Predeceased by adoring and adored parents Vittoria and Joseph, loving brother Plinio Campagnolo and daughter Catherine’s loving husband Eric. She is survived by her caring and supportive cousins Meri and Gianna, as well as by Steven and Robert, husbands of daughters Pat and Carol, Margaret, wife of son Edward, Rekha wife of grand daughter Melissa, friends Susi, Nathalie and Joe. Loving grandmother to Melissa, Matthew, Sean, Callum and great grandmother to Frances. Loving, generous, supportive and always thoughtful friend to too many to mention here, but they all know that Dina loved them. « I. Love. You! »
Dina was a gentle soul, caring, kindhearted and generous with her sweet personality and loving manner.
Her warmth, wit, quips and laughter brought joy and happiness to all around her. Conversation with Dina was always engaging and her passion for people was evident in her many relationships.
Her passions included reading on current affairs, as well as travel writing. Not a day went by without her nose in a newspaper or book.
She loved music, Van Morrison, Mozart and Elvis filled her day.
She was also an avid Blue Jays, Jeopardy, Price is Right and Seinfeld fan.
When not raising her children and being a loving wife, Dina loved to work outside the home. From working during high school in a pickle factory, to being manager of Guelph Woolworth’s Hardware Department in her 20s to returning to work in her 40s at the University of Guelph, Dina loved her work but she especially loved the comraderie of being with her coworkers, making friends she still has to this day.
She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her all of her family members, dear childhood friends, many, many friends, including her many good friends at her apartment building on Woolwich St. and also all of her friends in the Guelph community where Dina was born and raised. She was a true Guelph gal!
We would like to thank all the wonderful and amazing staff at Hospice Wellington who cared for our dear mother in her final days.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, the service will be by invitation only. There may be a possibility of additional seating becoming available.
