With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beautiful Diane Paradis (nee Baril) on May 4th, 2020 at the age of 83 years. Born in Bonnyville October 23, 1936, Diane grew up in Edmonton, Alberta.
We have been blessed with the kind, beautiful, generous, and loving person Diane was to her family and friends. Thank-you for enriching our lives with your gifts of strength, wisdom, courage, faith, hope and love. We are comforted knowing that we have one more angel in heaven watching over us.
Diane’s first teaching assignment was at Forest Lawn Calgary followed by 30 years of teaching with Edmonton Catholic School Division. She served many students and families in her career as a caring passionate educator ending her career at St. Dominic School where she cherished special lifetime bonds with many colleagues. Diane had a ‘joie de vivre’ that brought joy and laughter to everyone around her. Diane’s second home was their family cabin at Lake Isle where she loved to spend time with family and friends. The Baril’s have a long history at Lake Isle and Diane and Bud continued that legacy with their own family. Yearly camp trips, ski trips, campfire sing songs, skating, board and card game nights, curling, golfing, and being present for the events of all her grandchildren were special moments she cherished with family and friends. Bud and Diane loved to travel, and they visited every continent except Africa and Antarctica. Diane was also known for her gardening, canning, freezing, and many meals she generously gifted to her family and friends throughout her life.
Predeceased by her precious 54 year old son, Raymond Paradis, she leaves behind her loving husband of 60 years, Lucien (Bud) Paradis, and three children, Michelle (Leon) Dupuis, Denise (Earl) Bourque, Mark (Sandra) Paradis and daughter-in-law, Livia Paradis and her beautiful grandchildren: Avery and Alden Dupuis, Renee, Lauren and Danielle Paradis, Kieran and Kara Bourque, Anthony Paradis and great grandson Hector Candela Bourque. Diane is also survived by her siblings, Art (Terrie) Baril, Phil (Vicky) Baril, and Denise (Bernie) Bryden.
Please join the livestream Funeral Celebration of Life for Diane Paradis which will take place on Friday, May 15, 2020 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Health Catholic Parish in Sherwood Park, presided by Fr. Jim Corrigan. Please click here to join the service.
