Turner, Delbert Leroy;
Of Truro, passed away peacefully on Tuesday,
November 17, 2020, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre Truro. Born
June 28, 1932 in Westchester Station, he was the eldest son of the
late George Eldon and Mae Christina (Rushton) Turner. He was a member
of First United Church Truro. He worked several jobs in his younger
years including driving Layton’s Taxi. He then went to work
at Truro Fire Department for 43 years, retiring in 1996. He liked to
go to auctions, gardening, and for drives in the country with his
wife, Shirley. He is survived by his wife, the former Shirley (Mingo)
for 67 years; children, Marvin (Leta), North River; Anthony (Wendy),
Loon Lake; Kevin (Shauna), Truro; Wanda (Danny) Clyke, Toronto;
Deborah Weatherbee, Bible Hill; grandchildren, Travis (Jennifer),
Surrey, BC; Melissa, North River; Lyndsey, Edmonton, AB; Adam (Jill),
Lower Sackville; Daniel, Toronto; Sara (Justin), Bible Hill; Vicky,
Halifax; great-grandchildren, Weston and Riley, Surrey, BC; Ashley and
Alivia, Edmonton, AB; Tate and Harlow, Lower Sackville, Halifax;
several cousins, nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Doris (Ralph)
Burns, PE; Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Murray
Turner. No visitation by request. Donations in Delbert’s
memory may be made to the Bible Hill Cemetery, or to a charity of your
choice. Graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Friday, November 20,
2020, at Bible Hill Cemetery, 41 Warren Drive, Bible Hill, Rev.
Valerie Kingsbury officiating; all are welcome to attend. (Due to
Covid-19 and Public Health requirements, a maximum of 250 people will
be permitted to attend and face masks are required. Please bring your
own chair, practice physical distancing and register with one of the
funeral directors upon arrival.) Webcasting of the graveside service
will be open to all and may be viewed from this site at 4 p.m.,
Friday, November 20, 2020; this link will remain active for some time
