David Leonard Rossiter
1949-2020
David Leonard Rossiter, 71, of Hillsborough, went home to
be with the Lord on Dec 26, 2020. He passed away peacefully at the
Moncton Hospital with his loving daughter holding
his hand, after silently battling cancer for a year.
David worked for the CNR for many years, until his
retirement. He enjoyed many hobbies over the years, such as Fishing,
hunting, and trapping. David had a passion for finding
antiques and he was always going to yard sales, flea markets and
auctions. He loved wheeling and dealing, he was good at
making trades and finding many hidden treasures. He also
enjoyed collecting coins and playing cards. David loved
people of all walks of life. He was generous and helped the poor
often, his door was always open. He loved all kids, and was a big kid
at heart himself. He enjoyed playing his guitar and
having a good old kitchen party where everyone sang and he had a lot
of fun. He had a great sense of humour and told a lot of
stories that would have everyone in stitches as they all laughed
together. He had a close bond with his daughter, Julie and she was his
world, they talked daily. His granddaughters had a
special place in his heart, he adored them. Dave
would want us to be thankful for the journey, and enjoy the life we
have been given by God, even if it’s not how envisioned it,
there is a purpose in everything. « The love of a father knows no
distance. »
He will also be deeply missed
by his cherished daughter, Julie Milburn; his treasured
granddaughters, Emma Milburn, and Abigail Milburn, and his wife and
best friend, Debbie (Shaffer) Rossiter all of Riverside-Albert; his
mother, Bertha Rossiter; brother, Jim Rossiter (Connie);
sisters, Brenda Richard (Bernie) , Cathy Field (Peter), sister-in-law,
Brenda Rossiter all of Lower Coverdale. He will
also be missed by several nieces, nephews and by many
