David’s Obituary
NEW GLASGOW – David Alexander “Dave” Snyder, 43, New Glasgow, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax surrounded by his family.
Born on November 26, 1976 in New Glasgow, he was a son of Hugh Alexander Sutherland, Spryfield and the late Kathleen Anita “Kay” Snyder. Dave was employed with Weeks Construction for the past two years. Previously he had been employed with MacLeod Safety and Eastern Tire. Dave was most appreciative of his boss and friend, Bobby, who “took him under his wing” and helped him flourish. He was a tireless worker who possessed boundless energy and an extreme work ethic, which was demonstrated by his determination to return to work during his cancer treatments. Dave was “the life of any party”. He greatly enjoyed socializing with his friends, dancing and knowing the words to most songs. Dave leaves a legacy of hard work, determination and love.
Surviving besides his father, Hugh, are his lifelong partner, Jody Cameron, Hopewell; son, Bailey Cameron, Hopewell; daughter, MacKenzie Cameron, Hopewell; sister, Rachel Snyder, New Glasgow; aunt, Gloria (Scott) MacLean, New Glasgow; uncle, Michael (Mary) Spooney, North Sydney; several cousins; “father and mother-in-law”, Debbie and Arnie Cameron, Hopewell; best friends since childhood, Chris Lumsden and Slick (Nicole) Atwell.
Besides his mother, Kay, he was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Bernice “Nan” and Greg Snyder; great-aunt, Beryl; stepmother, Linda Sutherland; best friend, Justin Reddick.
The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 7th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where a private funeral service will be held.
