Obituary of Dale Gadsby
(Retired Fowler’s Construction, Bracebridge)
With profound sadness, the family announces that Dale passed away peacefully at home in Arnprior while in the company of his cherished wife and best friend, Kristyne (nee Winkworth) on Wednesday evening, December 16, 2020. He was 61. Dearly loved father of Tommy Gadsby (Stephanie) and Charlie Gadsby (Sharrie-Lea), both of Midland and Carrie-Ann Gadsby-Ladouceur (Steve) of Port McNicoll. Predeceased by a son, James Pirie and his only brother, Derrick Gadsby. Cherished Poppa of many grandchildren. Dear brother of Valerie Gadsby-Dussome of Midland. Close and special friend of Allysha Dutfield (Adam) of Arnprior and cherished uncle of Nicole St. Amand (T.J.) of Barrie. Lifelong friend and “brother from another mother” of Art Perrault and Vinnie Sova-Lalonde, both of Port McNicoll. Forever missed by his “Wind Brothers and Sisters”. Dale’s final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior. In his memory, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Biker’s Prayer
Dear Lord, as I get ready to get on this bike, keep me safe from harm and let the other drivers see me as I ride by. Keep me alert and watchful, and don’t let me ever fail to stop and help out one of my own. Keep my eyes focused in front of me, show me the signs along the way, and give me the wisdom to take the right road. May angels of my brothers and sisters who have gone before me guard my travels, for they know the perils of the road ahead of me.
Keep me safe through the rough city streets on the way to the land of the swirling turns and rolling hills. May my tires not fail me, nor my engine grow old. Keep my seat soft and my mind sharp as I ride from place to place.
Lord, thank you for letting me be a biker and doing what I love. For the many miles I travel, places I get to go to before I finally come to rest, and when it is time to take this biker home, I’d be grateful if you would join me for the final ride in the sky.
