CURRIE (NEE CONNORS), Valerie Marie
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Valerie Currie (née Connors) at the age of 70 on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Lakeridge Health Ajax, peacefully in the presence of her children. Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland on April 19, 1950, Valerie grew up with eight siblings in a close-knit family. She loved Newfoundland as her home but left at 18 years old to move to Ontario with the love of her life, Roger Currie, whom she later married and had two children, Laurie & Shane. Valerie always kept her family, children, and grandchildren close and shared in their happiness and pain. Valerie was loved and will be missed by all that knew her. Predeceased by her husband Roger, her parents; Timothy and Patricia, her brothers; Bartholomew, Timothy, Mike, Fabian, and infant brother Brent and sister Michelle. Leaving behind to mourn her loss are daughter Laurie Currie and son Shane Currie, her grandchildren; Tyler, Jessica, Nicholas, Nathan and Ethan, her brothers Brian Connors (Heather) and Patrick, sisters Evangeline (John Tucker) and Patricia (Peter Prowse), sister-in-law Lorraine Connors (Timothy) and a large circle of relatives and friends. A loving mother so tender and kind, what a beautiful memory you left behind. While we are devastated by this loss, we take comfort in knowing you are together with dad/grandpa to celebrate 50 years of marriage and love on October 24, 2020. May you dance together forever on the wings of angels. We miss you and love you so much.
