Constance Leah Clark
(nee Morris)
July 16, 1933 – February 28, 2020
Having lost Dan, her husband of 62 years on November 23, Connie Clark (nee Morris) died of a broken heart on Friday night, February 28, 2020 after one final visit with her beloved daughters at Quinte Gardens, Belleville.
Connie leaves her son Scott of Fort Frances, who also enjoyed a last visit this week; daughters Ruth (Ian Anderson), Toronto and Jane (Alec Humble), Ajax; and grandsons George, Andrew and Jonathon, to remember how loving and loyal a mother and grandmother can be. Deborah (Bruce Allan) of Toronto, now feels the aching gap left only by the death of a sister. Dan’s sister Margie Pullen, as well as several nieces and nephews also survive in Ontario and Michigan, as well as a collection of dear friends across the country, curated over the years, courtesy of Dan’s BMO transfers across three provinces and Germany. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Jack and Ida Morris or Prescott, Ontario, and her brothers John (Beth) and Robin.
Connie was born in Chesterville, Ontario. The eldest of four and a depression baby, she personified the grit, stamina and resourcefulness of her generation. She grew up quickly as her Mom’s second-in-command while her Dad was away from 1939-1945, protecting us all from the Nazi scourge.
The family moved to Prescott after WWII. As a teller in the local BMO branch she met Dan and their exciting journeys and family began. They retired to Prince Edward County’s Hay Bay and then Belleville.
The family would like to thank her dear neighbours and the staff at Quinte Gardens and the VON for their care of Connie in her final days. Special thanks to Dr. Giuseppe Bonacci and Dr. Jennifer Lynch, whose empathy and treatment brought her great comfort.
A Celebration of Connie’s Life will be held at the JOHN R. BUSH FUNERAL HOME, 80 Highland Ave. Belleville (613-968-5588) on Thursday March 5th, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Reception Centre. Interment to follow in the spring in Colchester. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
