Colins is survived by his wife Elaine (Bridgeman, Audette); daughter Angelique (Chris); son Ryan (Nikki), daughters Genevieve(Stephen), Arrianne (Robbie), and Brielle; stepdaughter Kim(Don) Walker, daughters Erika and Sarah; stepson Clint (Rhonda) son Michael and daughter Hannah ; sister Shirley (Wayne) Neilson, their children, Barb (Mike), Scott (Tana), Shane (Myra) and grandchildren; sister-in-law Yvonne(Robert) Butterfield, their children David (Chantelle), Julia (Denten) and grandchildren; brother-in-law Jim (Claudette) Bridgeman, their children Joel (Rielle), Leah (Andre) and grandchildren; mother of his children Donna (Larry) Tokarchuk. Collins was born in Southey Saskatchewan July 16, 1943. He lived in various places throughout Saskatchewan with his family. Some of his favourite memories were of great times visiting his many aunts, uncles, and cousins of the Silzer and Geber families around the Southey area. He spoke of these times often. He joined the military at 18 years of age. He enjoyed his many postings across Canada, he especially favored his postings in Germany, where he had many adventures and experiences. He loved to meet and talk with people and could strike up a conversation or share a joke with anyone anywhere he went. Colins and his wife Elaine enjoyed travelling, and one of the most memorable trips for him they went on was riding old trains in Colorado, as trains were one of his many joys in life. Colins was involved in many sports such as baseball, broom ball, hockey, and curling; either playing, umpiring or reffing throughout his lifetime. He had a love for children and would often be happiest playing on the floor with the kids or holding a new baby. Colins was diagnosed with cancer in 2019. He was in for the fight of his life, but despite his hard-fought battle, cancer took him from us. On that journey were many supportive people, such as Moose Jaw palliative care team, especially RN’s Pat and Kim, and the many caring aides; Dr. W. Geyer, Dr. G. Miller, Dr. K. Hetherington, Dr. R. Bigsby and Dr. K. Sanderson and Oncologists Dr. N. Mahmood and Dr. A. Iqbal; the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, the staff at the Allan Blair cancer clinic; and all those who touched his life on this journey. A private Memorial Service was held July 29th, 2020 at Central Lutheran Church in Moose Jaw, lead by Reverend Doug Shepherd. Colins will be laid to rest with his infant grandson Drew in Mission BC. Donations in Colins memory may be made to Moose Jaw palliative care, or the Allan Blair cancer clinic. In living memory of Colins, a memorial planting will be made by Jones – Parkview Funeral Services.
