Obituary of Clifton Raymond Aulenback
Clifton Raymond Aulenback, age 76 was born on March 9, 1944 and born again on February 8, 1970. He was a hard worker. At age 15 he took his first job as a woodsman, working at this job for 16 years. In 1975, he took a job at Michelin, Bridgewater, labouring there for 30 years. He retired from there in 2005.
He met and married his wife of 55 years, Judy on January 15, 1966. His dad and a friend put up the frame of his house and the rest was done by his own working hands, providing a wonderful home for his new bride. Together they had 3 beautiful children, daughters, Shawn Dianne, Joy Lou-Ann and son, Clifton Raymond Jr. Surviving also are 4 wonderful grandchildren, Andrew, Emma, Porter and Hunter. Surviving relatives include, Ella Dunn, Gladys Hatt, Margaret Olson (Svante), Ruth (Gordon), David (Jesslyn), Ronald and Earle (Darlene).
He was predeceased by father, Wallace Creigton; mother, Susan Eileen; infant brother, Ronald; infant sister, Evaline; youngest brother, LeRoy, age 52.
Clifton was a wonderful, caring husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. He leaves a huge hole in our hearts. His youngest grandson, Hunter, when anything got broken, would always say, “Grampie can fix it”, and he could always fix it.
We will miss your happy face and loving smile.
He always used “Dear” when addressing his wife, never Judy. A wonderful, loving, and thoughtful father, husband, and grandfather, “Oh how we will miss you”.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, November 24 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York St., Bridgewater. Outdoor funeral service to be held 1 p.m., Wednesday November 25 at 1091 Falkland Ridge Road, Springfield. Burial to follow in Falkland Ridge Cemetery, Springfield. Following Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions, physical distancing will be practiced, and face masks are encouraged. In lieu of flowers, donations in Clifton’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
He is now in the presence of his Lord and Saviour. On February 8, 1970, on a Sunday afternoon, down on his knees beside the coffee table, realizing he was a lost condemned sinner and accepting that when the Lord Jesus died on that cruel cross, it was for his sins, and accepting this through Isaiah 53:5, he was born again and received into God’s family, and is now at home.
Absent from the body, present with the Lord.
