Claude Owen Grant
1932-2020
Claude O. Grant of Canterbury, NB passed away peacefully on October
27, 2020 at Carleton Manor. Claude was born on April 21, 1932 at
Canterbury, NB, a son of the late Guy and Ida Grant.
Claude was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, guiding, 4-wheeling
and snowmobiling. He was employed for 26 years as an Equipment
Operator at St. Anne Pulp Mill. Claude faithfully attended the
basketball games at Canterbury High and he was as avid fan of the
Toronto Blue Jays. Claude was loved by all his grandchildren and had
a special bond with them.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Grant; children, Carter Grant
(Beth), Nackawic, NB, Dana Grant (Dixie), Canterbury, NB, Beverley
Wright (Ricky), Temperance Vale, NB, Dwight Grant (Kimberley), Charlie
Lake, NB, Darren Grant (Karen), Ft. McMurray, AB and Kimberly McIntosh
(Warren), Woodstock, NB; thirteen grandchildren, Jamie (Sherri),
Andrew (Suzie), Emily (Dusty), Ian (Heather), Meaghan (Josh), Amanda
(Kris), Adrian (Amanda), Matthew (Kylie), Kristen, Sarah, Chelsea
(Joel), Cassidy (Lucas) and Hannah; thirteen great grandchildren,
Tyson, Dax, Ryder, Joel, Adelynn, Silas, Krisily, Felicity, Lucas,
Lily, October, Kiara and Lydia; a sister Hattie Cheney, Woodstock, NB;
a sister-in-law, Lillian Gibson and brothers-in-law, Hollis Grant
(Donna), Hazen Grant (Darlene), Wilbur Grant (Mona), and Harris Grant
(Sharon); several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant grandson
Jordan; a brother Alfred Grant; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Cheney and
Charles Gibson and a sister-in-law, Effie Dudock.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis
Drive, Nackawic, NB on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm with social
distancing respected. A private funeral service will be held on
Friday, October 30, 2020 with Pastor Rick McFadyen officiating.
Interment at Canterbury Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Claude, the family
has suggested the Canterbury Cemetery or Canterbury High School
(Basketball program).
