Obituary of Clarence P. Jennex, New Victoria
With much sadness we announce that on Friday, July 3, 2020, Clarence Jennex ‘Bubby’ passed from this world to God’s hands peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 21, 1938, the son of the late Clarence and Sarah (Fraser) Jennex.
He was a member of the Parish Church of St. Leonard, New Waterford.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lillian (Musgrave) Jennex and his seven children, Darrell (Elaine), New Waterford, Darlene, New Victoria, Willie (Heather), Alberta, Wanda (Lawrence) Flint, New Waterford, Timmy (Carolynn), New Victoria, Tracy (Walter) Macdonald, New Brunswick, and Charlene (Kelly) Tighe, New Waterford; grandchildren, Amy, Christina, Darrell Jr., Natasha, Colin, Blaknee, Jenna, Josh, Bree Lynn, Riley, Brandon, Samantha, Madeleine, Jack, Gabriel; great-grandchildren, Abby, Landon, Stryder, Breton, Oaklynn, and Ember.
He comes from a large family of 17 brothers and sisters. Clarence had a great work ethic that was shown by his 38 years as a coal miner in No.’s 12, 18 and Lingan. He was a back yard mechanic who was willing to help anyone in need. His acts of kindness never went unnoticed like getting up at dawn to make breakfast for his family every morning. He was a humble man who had a positive attitude towards life; this was evident as he was a two time cancer survivor and never complained.
He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, gardening and camping every year with his family on the Cabot Trail. Bubby loved his casual drives to the Cove where he would listen to his favourite Scotch music and he also enjoyed watching country and western on YouTube.
Clarence was predeceased by his sisters, Sarah and Hilda and brother, Willie.
Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. A private Funeral Mass of celebration will be held in the Parish Church of St. Leonard with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, New Victoria. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Lewy Body Dementia Association. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
We will forever miss our Husband, Dad and Papa, until we meet again. We all love you.
