Cheryl K. Wilson
1961-2020
It is with sadness that the family of Cheryl Katherine Wilson
announces her sudden passing at the Oromocto Public Hospital on
Friday, August 21, 2020, at the age of 58. Born in Regina,
Saskatchewan, on December 9, 1961, she was the daughter of Jim Doyle
and the late Dorothy McDonald.
Cheryl leaves behind her children, Tricia Doyle (Alex Winer)
and Bradley Clark; brothers, Peter, Joseph and Francis Doyle;
grandchildren, Andrew Doyle and Mateo, Faith, and Mercidez Hall; aunt,
Lily Earnshaw; and her « besties ». In addition to her
mother, Dorothy, Cheryl was predeceased by her step father, Myles
McDonald; grandmother, Josephine Whitford; 3 aunts and 1
uncle.
Cheryl was a Cpl. in the Canadian military who worked as a
Meteorological Technician from 2008 – 2019. Following her
retirement Cheryl returned to school and completed her education to
become a Certified Accountant.
She will be lovingly remembered for her big heart and
generous nature. She was open and honest, cared deeply for her friends
and family, and loved animals, especially her pets Pax, Gizmo,
Whoopie, and Storm. Her children and grandchildren were her whole
world and they will miss her everyday.
There will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be
held at a later time. For those who wish, donations in
Cheryl’s memory can be made to the Cancer Unit at McMaster
Children’s Hospital (www.hamiltonhealthsciences.ca/mcmaster-childrens-hospital/),
the Humane Society of Canada (www.humanesociety.com/)
or the Neurofibromatosis Society of Ontario (www.nfon.ca/)
Plant a
Tree
If when I am
gone
Thou would’st honor me
Then
plant a tree.
Some highway, bleak and bare,
Make green with leaves.
So radiant and fair
And full of leaves my monument will be,
So ever full of
tuneful melody.
My monument will be
A sight
most rare –
Trees planted everywhere.
A highway broad from city to the sea –
Plant this in memory of me.
