Obituary
With great sadness the family of Cecelia Nichol announce her passing on Friday, November 27, 2020 at the age of 92 years at the Gilbert Plains Personal Care Home.
Cecelia Anastasia Nichol was born on August 7, 1928 in the Rhodes District of Manitoba to Anton and Mary (Huculak) Pachkowski.
In May 1950 she married Michael moving to Nipawin, SK in 1955 where they made their home. Following dad’s passing in 1996, in 1998 she moved from Nipawin to Ethelbert, MB. Failing health overwhelmed her independence and passion of looking after her home and yard, Dauphin Personal Care Home, December 2009, became home until moving to the Gilbert Plains Personal Care Home.
Mom, Grandma, aunt Cece, enjoyed gardening, cooking, flowers, crochet, reminiscing with photo albums and delighted in her grandchildren and great grandchildren visits. The expression ‘all bets are off’, one that identified mom; ‘all diets are off’. Surprise visit or not, in mere moments a feast would materialize, her love shown not only with hugs and kisses also through making a meal and conversation full of laughter. Yard, flowers and garden were tended with her appreciation of what nature provides, her touch brought forth its best. Bird watching was enjoyed, both her and dad delighted in that. She played the violin and with dad on the accordion their music was great.
Cecelia is survived by son David (Donna) of Saskatoon; granddaughter Sacha Struble, great granddaughters Kaylee, Madison and Paige of Assiniboia, SK and their father Devon; grandson Justin (Krystal), great grandson Jacob of Saskatoon; son Glenn, granddaughters Crystal and Lainie of Regina; sister Rose (Peter) Hrytsay; sisters-in-law Nellie and Mary Pachkowski, Clara Nichol; brother-in-law Bill Konowalchuk, and many nieces and nephews.
Cecelia was predeceased by her parents; husband Michael; grandson Jeremiah; sisters Elizabeth Konowalchuk, Anne and Andrew Yury; brothers Fred, Peter and wife Rose, and Russ; brother-in-law Bill Nichol; daughter-in-law Tammy Nichol; and nephew Mersil Yury.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, December 4th from the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Parish Cemetery in Wynyard, SK with Fr. Jeffrey Stephaniuk officiating.
