Catherine « Caye » Agnes Kittel (nee McKinley), of Walkerton, passed away peacefully at Bruclea Haven Long Term Care Home on Saturday, June 27, 2020. Predeceased by her loving husband Gerry. She was 92
Born in Niagara Falls on April 20, 1928 to the late Arthur and Teresa (nee Weiler) McKinley. Caye was a member of Holy Family Church in Hanover and Past President of the CWL at Sacred Heart Church in Walkerton.
Caye made many happy & fun memories raising her loving children who mourn her passing; Paul Kittel of Kincardine, Mike (Pam) Kittel of Millbrook, only daughter Teresa (Tom) Crawford of Meaford, Jamie Kittel of Walkerton, twins Tim (Anne) Kittel of Kincardine and Tom (Cheryl) Kittel of Walkerton. Proud Grandma of Heather, Michelle (Adam), Ryan (Reka), Scott (Carly), Leigh (Ashley), Ethan (Jessica), Nicholas (Allison), Katelyn, Lesa (Chris), Ben (Madison), Louis, Kory, Leah (Landon) and great grandson Colt. Fondly remembered by her sister Francis (John) McCarney of Peterborough and brother-in-law Bill Hogg of Toronto. Gone to meet the Lord before her: her beloved husband Gerry, her brothers Joe and Tom McKinley and sisters Mary McLaughlin, Margaret Newman, and Barb Hogg.
Caye will be remembered for her love & enjoyment of her shoe store ‘Kittel’s Shoe Box’, playing & teaching Bridge, singing in various church choirs, playing her beloved piano and the ‘Lake House’ at Marl Lake.
Special thanks to the kind & compassionate staff at Bruclea Haven for attending to Mom’s needs over the last 2½ years.
To honour her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held at Holy Family Church, Hanover with inurnment in Calvary Cemetery Columbarium.
