Obituary of Carol Beatrice Chmelnyk
It is with extreme sadness the family of Carol Chmelnyk announce her passing on Saturday November 21st, 2020 after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Carol was born at St. Pauls Hospital on April 12, 1949. She grew up on the family farm near Blaine Lake and attended Blaine Lake School.
Carol met the love of her life Slowko in 1967 and they were married on February 17th, 1968. Together they were blessed with two children, Kathy, who passed away shortly after birth and Richard who was born April 25th, 1970.
Carol worked for many years at St. Paul’s Hospital up until her retirement. After Slowko’s passing she decided to move to Meacham, SK to live with Richard and help him on the farm. She loved being out at the farm and enjoyed gardening and looking after the animals they had. Anyone who knows her, knew she always had the best flower garden around. The farm was her “happy place”.
Carol was predeceased by her husband Slowko (Dec 2003), parents: Tim & Nettie Esakin, siblings: Albert Esakin, Clarence Esakin, and Glenda Esakin, many brother and sister in laws and most recently her son Richard (September 2020).
She is survived by her siblings: Glenn Esakin, Molly (Norman) Neudorf, sister in Laws: Linda Esakin, Veronica Esakin, Margaret Chmelnyk. Nephews and nieces: Kelly (Shelly) Esakin, Devon (Debbie) Neudorf, Ervin (Lori) Neudorf, Caralee (Dwight) Chrun, Crystal (Peter) Bzowy, Michael Chmelnyk and Darcy Chmelnyk.
Due to Covid restrictions there will be a private family service, Friday, November 27, 2020 at Woodlawn Cemetery. Masks are mandatory.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Carol
