Carmelita’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Carmelita Frances Russell announce her passing on Sunday, October 25th, 2020 at the age of 84 years. She leaves to mourn with many loving and precious memories: daughters: Marion (Tony) Menchenton of Stephenville, Juanita (Robert) Witty of Edmonton, AB, Lisa Russell of Corner Brook, Marina (Kevin) Witty, of Winfield, BC, Rhonda (Peter) Gosse of Corner Brook, Helen (Dean) McConnell of Oyama, BC, and Diane (Brad) Blanchard of Kippens; sons: Finten (Leah) of Brampton, ON, David (Debbie) of Okotoks, AB, Dwayne (Charlene) of Kippens, and Scott of Stephenville; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother Finten (Joyce) Penney of Campbell’s Creek; and sister Mary Lacosta of Campbell’s Creek; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends. Carmelita was predeceased by: husband Ronald; son Joe; granddaughter Stephanie; parents Samuel & Isabelle Penney; sisters: Theresa Lacosta and Agnes Mayne; and brothers: John Penney and Sam Penney.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Laverna Benoit, Veronica Colombe, Lisa Robia, and Melvina Whelan for the wonderful care they gave to their mom in her last year at home. Also thank you to the staff from Protective and DVA units of the LTC Home in Corner Brook.
Following Carmelita’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held from St. Stephen’s Parish with interment to follow at a later date.
