Brenda Marlene Halvorson April 28 1943 November 8 2020

In Loving Memory Of
Brenda Marlene Halvorson
Brenda Marlene Halvorson, long time resident of Demmitt, AB, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020, in Hythe, AB, at the age of 77 years.
Brenda was born on April 28, 1943, to Stephen and Marjorie Sullivan in Pouce Coupe, BC.
She grew up in the Tupper, BC, area and loved being in the great outdoors. She married the love of her life, Roy Halvorson in 1960, and lived on the family farm in Demmitt, AB. There, she was a member of the Ray Lake WI until they moved to British Columbia and eventually resided near Pouce Coupe. Then, in 1973, they returned to the farm at Demmitt, where they had a mixed farm. Later, she was self-employed with her own business. She volunteered with the 4H Dairy Club and was a member of the Pouce Coupe Gymkana Club. She was a very hard worker and never slowed down up until her accident in 2008, which restricted her cognitive abilities and mobility. Since that time, she has resided at the Hythe Continuing Care Centre until her passing.
Brenda had many interests and hobbies which she excelled at, including: cooking, baking, canning, sewing, gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, horseback riding, entering exhibits at Fall Fairs and always walking away with many ribbons, trophies, and prize money. She loved going for hotdog roasts, no matter what the season. She spent most of her adult life attending country dances across the Peace Country. She had a love of family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and being a spectator or participant at all their events.
She is survived by her loving children: Trudy (Orville) Lepitzki of Grande Cache, AB, Blaine of Peace River, AB, and Shaine (Joan) of Kelowna, BC; along with her step-daughter Linda (George) Gyepsei of Morinville, AB; nine grandchildren: Loriann (Christopher) Nelson, Kendall (Veronique) Lepitzki, all of Grande Cache, AB; Jodi (John) Westercamp of Clyde, AB, Corey Halvorson of Peace River, AB, Brett, Kali, and Garrett Halvorson of Kelowna, BC; step-grandsons Christopher (Coreena) Meurin, and Kyle Meurin, both of Edmonton, AB; three great-grandsons: Crosby and Connor Nelson, and Quentin Lepitzki; two step-great-granddaughters Leah Radke and Gabrielle Traskowski. She also leaves to mourn three sisters: Connie (Harry) Jones, Janet (Ray) Gruenke both of Pouce Coupe, BC, and Gloria Clark of Dawson Creek, BC; brother Vern (Sharon) Sullivan of Chetwynd, BC; in-laws Evelyn Burechailo of Prince George, BC, Julia (Carl) Crantz of Dawson Creek, BC, Vivian Lee of Grande Prairie, AB, and Clifford (Sharon) Halvorson of Prince George, BC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
Brenda was predeceased by her loving husband Roy; parents Stephen and Marjorie Sullivan; brothers Wayne (Marg), and Glenn; Roy’s parents Knute and Emma; in-laws: Kenneth Halvorson, Helen and Raymond Sandboe, Zenon Burechailo, Marion and Herbie Jones, and Roger Lee; as well as her niece Corrine Halvorson and nephew Roy Pattison.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Hythe Continuing Care Centre (P.O. Box 100, Hythe, AB, T0H 0C0).
The family of Brenda Halvorson would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Crowe, the nurses and staff of the Hythe Continuing Care Centre for their warm and caring attention that was given to mom during the time that she resided under their care.
