It is with
deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bonnie Jean
Poirier of Kingsclear First Nation on February
3rd, 2020. She was 52 years old. Born in
Houlton, Maine, on August 19th, 1967, she was
the daughter of William Polchies and the late Elizabeth Polchies
(Fortune).
She will be
deeply missed by her husband, the love of her life Ron Poirier, her
children; Indigo Poirier, Zachary Poirier, Amanda Poirier, and Jenny
Poirier, as well as her two cats Lucky and Mocha, her siblings Jr.
Polchies (Lenore), Laurie Paul (Dick), Sonya Perley (Rick), twin
Connie Sabattis (Wayne), Sue Polchies (Dean), and Ricky Polchies
(Erica). She will also be missed by several aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends, as well as her chosen-granddaughter
Zoey Polchies.
Bonnie was an
avid bingo player, bowler, reader, writer, photographer, and
craft-enthusiast. She was a die-hard Montreal Canadiens fan and lover
of country music. Additionally, she was a passionate activist and a
strong advocate for her home community of Kingsclear First
Nation.
Visiting hours
will be held at 613 Apt. Lane in Kingsclear First Nation on Wednesday
February 5th at 4pm until the funeral service.
The funeral service will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic
Church on Friday February 7th at 2pm with
Father Monte Peters officiating. Interment will be held at a later
date.
As an
alternative to flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Mental
Health Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
