With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Beverley Ann Felske. Bev peacefully passed away on December 12, 2020 from a short battle with cancer. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Sandy (Max) and Cindy (Colin); her two grandchildren Lauren and Callie; and many other family and friends.
Beverley was born in Mountain Park, Alberta; later residing in Murrayville, Vancouver and was a longtime Port Coquitlam resident for the past 57 years. Bev made a career as an education assistant and science lab technician for the Richmond School Board.
Beverley, Big Red, Trail Boss, Mama Felske was a lady before her time, an innovator and organizer extraordinaire. She has left an indelible mark on this world with a lifetime of work and service to many local organizations; Poco Ringette (PCRM), BC Ringette, BC Snowmobile Federation, and ATV BC. She was the co-founder of Poco Ringette and ATV BC, standing up for girls to have an ice sport to play; advocated for trails to ride your ATV and accomplished passing legislation for licensing and registration of ATV’s in our province.
Her sense of adventure was like no other. She always had an idea, plan or adventure up her sleeve, ready to implement. Bev was always up for a celebration, never missing a birthday, a happy hour, or a reason to gather. I hope they have DQ ice cream cakes in heaven.
She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Felske in 2012. They spent many happy years traveling the province and beyond in their motorhome and snow birding in Palm Springs, CA. The most precious memories were spent with her family and friends at their cabin at Green Lake, skating on the lake, fishing at Little Scott and riding the trails on snowmobile and ATV.
Now she can rest easy, reading her books, sipping her earl grey tea, and watching TV., alongside our dad. A celebration will occur in Summer 2021.
