Miller, Betty Enid (nee Welton)
1927–‐2020
It is with heavy hearts, the family shares the news of Betty’s passing on Saturday March 28, 2020 at the age of 92. Dear wife of the late Terence Miller (2018). She leaves behind her children: Terrianne MacDonald (David), Morgan Miller (Danette), and BethJane Vriend (Henry). Cherished grandchildren, Dylan (Jessica), Bryce (Jen), Maddy, Sophie and great Grandchildren Colten and Brody. Betty was born in New Forest, Fawley, near Southhampton, England, August 23 1927, along with twin sister Barbara “Bob”. Born to Her parents Richard “Jack” and Sarah (nee Stride) Welton. She married Terence in 1952 and celebrated 66 years of marriage. Most of those years, residing in Stratford. Long time Member of the St. James Anglican Church. Most proud of her years spent working in the dining room in the Festival Motor Inn, where she met and kept many of her good friends. She was also an avid knitter, selling many of her creations at the Farmers Market on Saturdays, or countless Craft Sales. Predeceased by siblings: Doris “Dot”, John, Peggy and Barbara. Brothers-in law and sisters in law: Ken Brown, Audrey Welton, Norman Richards and Arthur Sullivan and nieces Susan Welton and Jackie Ravensdale. Betty has reached her final destination, the journey over the last few years, definitely not a straight line. The one constant, during this time was her love of music. She may not have known you, but she could sing you the words to most songs. We would like to take this time to thank everyone who has helped Betty and us navigate through these times. You do make a difference and because of you, it made our part of the journey easier. So big THANKS to: McCarthy Place, Cedarcroft, Hillside, Emergency Dr.’s and nurses, third floor Stratford Hospital nursing staff, Spruce Lodge and last but not least the Spruce Lodge Adult Day Program, where Betty was Dubbed “The Dancing Queen”, which she will always be in our hearts.
