Bernard’s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Bernard Patrick Noseworthy announce his passing at the age of 60 years at the Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook after a long, courageous and hard-fought battle with brain cancer. Bern leaves to mourn the love of his life and best friend, Jackie, to whom he was married to for 35 years; his girls, April George (Colin) and Terri-Lynn Noseworthy (Chris Locke) and his little darlings, his granddaughters, Clara and Caitlyn George, who he adored more than anything in this world. He also leaves to mourn his siblings: Dianne Rose, Judy Burridge, Eva (Ed) Kays, Ron (Carol) Noseworthy, Dave (Lisa) Noseworthy and Kim Noseworthy (George Mitchelmore), his mother-in-law, Nora Curtis, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Mildred (Larry) Colford, Peter (Audrey) Curtis, Marg (Paul) Pike, Patsy Curtis (Rob Loder), Glen (Donna) Curtis, Bill (Liz) Curtis, Ralph (Cora) Curtis and Dennis (Tracey) Curtis, his aunts and uncles Ed (Daphne) Brake, Irene Stratton (Walt Sheppard), Esther (Tony) Byrne, Tom (Vicki) Brake, Kathleen Smith and Rosemary McNaughton, along with a very large and loving circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and his best buddies, Mike Carew, Phil Christopher and Pius Beales. Bern had a love of many things but most of all he loved family. He is predeceased by his parents, Chesley and Gertrude (Brake) Noseworthy, his brothers, Alex Noseworthy and Frank Noseworthy, his father-in-law, Patrick Curtis and his niece, Danielle Buote, as well as other loved family members. As Bernard’s request, cremation has taken place. A private family viewing will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road. A funeral service will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Curling St. with Msgr. Jim Robertson officiating. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Benoit’s Cove. NL. The family would like to thank Dr. Lafferty, Michelle King and all of the wonderful staff at Palliative Care along with Chris Randell and his team at the Medicine Shoppe for their love, care and support during these difficult months. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations in memory of Bernard Noseworthy can be made to the WMRH Palliative Care Unit, The Cuddle Bed Project or to Brain Tumour Cancer Foundation.
