We are sorry to announce the passing of Audrey (Doderlein) Findlay on April 4, 2020 at the early age of 65.
Audrey was predeceased by her parents, Gunther & Ruth Doderlein, and her beloved husband Ian James Findlay.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sophia Findlay and Lillian Lizee, her grandson Gatsby Lizee and his father Fabien Lizee.
Audrey was born in Montreal, and had numerous academic achievements, obtaining her PhD in Psychology by age 27. She worked as a psychologist in Prince Albert after moving out West, when she met Ian at Waskesiu Lake. Ian said he did not know what happiness was until he and Audrey married.
Audrey was incredibly talented in the arts, her love of wool, textiles, glass and pottery are fondly remembered by many of closest friends. She always joked about writing a book with a friend that started with “it was a dark and stormy night,” sadly, it did not go much further than that. Her brilliant smile, sincere gratitude despite living with Rheumatoid Arthritis for nearly 40 years, and her genuine interest in people will be sorely missed.
We will miss Audrey’s passion for a Starbucks cappuccino, her fierce love for her grandson, and all that she was.
In lieu of any flowers or donations, we ask that you buy some local made wool and create something or paint a picture and think about her because that would have made her smile.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Audrey Findlay 2020..
