We regret to announce the passing of Astrid “Rusty” Davis (nee Rust), who passed away peacefully in her sleep with family by her side in Salmon Arm, BC on January 8, 2020 at the age of 85.
She leaves her children Wayne Davis (Lynn), Ronald Davis (Kathy), Allison Williams (Stewart), and Tonya Lifton (Kirk), as well as her grandchildren Camille, Carmen, JR, Robbie, Justin, Jared, and Davis, and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Lorraine Jameson, loving nieces and nephews, and a host of long-time friends.
Astrid was born in her parents’ home in Prince Albert, SK on June 9th 1934. After the passing of her mother Gladys in 1945, her father Lars moved the family to Nanaimo, BC. She graduated high school and worked at the local library until joining the RCAF military where she met her husband Leonard Davis.
As a military family, they lived and traveled from coast to coast, and in her later years she lived with her daughter in Grindrod, BC. After suffering from a stroke, she received loving care from the staff at Hillside Good Samaritan’s, to whom the family are so grateful.
Astrid made her presence known and left an impression wherever she went, whether good or bad.
The celebration of Astrid’s life will be held in the spring, when her beloved garden flowers will be in bloom. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Astrid Rusty Davis nee Rust January 8th 2020..
