Arnold ‘Joe’ Fobert
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arnold ‘Joe’ Fobert on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at the Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge. Arnold was surrounded by so much love as he was reunited with his Creator. Arnold’s pride and joy was his family. He was a loving and caring husband of Fernande DeSerres for the past 62 years; friends for the past 80 years. Arnold will be sadly missed and forever loved by his children Anne-Marie and Claude Poirier, Pierre and Jocelyn Fobert, Sylvie Mayer and Len Davis, Micheline and Randy Irving. Arnold was the loving pépère of Mélanie Mayer (Jason Shoot), Joel Mayer, Marie-Claude Poirier (Justin), Marc-André Poirier (Karina), Jennifer Fobert and Dawson Irving. Pépère had a special twinkle in his eye for great-grandsons Sullivan (Sully) Shoot and Tristan Cuerrier-Mayer. He is also survived by his in-laws Laure Burelle (late Raymond) and Gaston and Thérèse DeSerres and many nieces, nephews and very dear friends.
Arnold has now gone to spend eternity with his parents Valérie (Poirier) and Lloyd Fobert, his parents-in-law Dorila (Hinse) and Médard DeSerres, his sisters Joyce (Rhéal Martel), Luva, and his brother Gilbert (Mary), his son-in-law Danny Mayer, his brothers and sisters-in- law, Fernand (Olive) DeSerres, Rose (Joseph St-Pierre), Lucie (Stan Renaud), Réjane (Royal Beauregard) and Marie Labelle.
Arnold was born in Cornwall where he spent all his life. He started to work at 12, delivering milk, he then worked at the Canadian Cotton Mill and at Domtar Fine Papers where he was very active with the Union and the Health and Safety Committee.
