Obituary of Arlene Judith Johnston
The passing of Arlene Judith Johnston, wife of the late Robert Johnston of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Monday, September 7, 2020 at Hospice Fredericton. Born on January 10, 1942 in Charlottetown, PE, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Deagle) DesRoches. She worked as a custodian for School District 18. Arlene was very involved with TOPS, liked playing cards and shuffleboard, she also enjoyed painting classes.
Arlene is survived by her daughter, Carol Johnston (Greg Wilson) and son, Allan Johnston; grandchildren, Josie Johnston and Duncan Johnston (Kendra Wilson) all of Fredericton, NB; brother, Ken DesRoches (Anne Marie) of Charlottetown, PE; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Arlene was predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth Davis and brother, Garry DesRoches.
A Private Memorial Service for family and invited guests will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB with Father Monte Peters officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery, Fredericton, NB. The family wish to express their gratitude for the compassion and care given to Arlene and the support and kindness to us during her time spent at Hospice House.
