Celebration of Life
Hyatt, Anita Norma (nee Crouse), 97, died peacefully in South
Shore Regional Hospital on August 8, 2020.
Born on May 28th, 1923, in Chelsea,
Lunenburg County, she was the daughter of Addie Belle Crouse and Perry
MacLeod. She was a hairdresser in her early years, took her trade in
Toronto at Marvel Hair Dressing. She loved playing cards, bowling,
bingo, most of all knitting. She knit for Family Services, for
children in Africa and Guatemala for I.C.S. Donating
Co.
Anita is survived by a daughter, Beverly (Jerry) Galbraith,
ON; 2 granddaughters, Leslie Galbraith, ON, Leana Shantz, AB;
grandsons, Scott Galbraith, ON, Christopher Shantz, AB; a
daughter-in-law Penny (Ron) Shantz, AB; grand daughter-in-law and
great grand daughter Catherine and Keira Galbraith, ON; sister Bertha
Manthorne of Liverpool and many nieces and nephews. She is also
survived by her stepsons Ben (Chris) Hyatt, Stephen Hyatt;
stepdaughter Glenys Hyatt; grandchildren Mandy (Adam) Pearson, Adam
(Hollie) Hyatt; great-grandson Paxton Pearson; great-granddaughter
Brooklyn Hyatt, all of ON; friends Mabel Beaver, Doug Gregory and Bill
(Shirley) Murphy.
Anita was predeceased by her loving husband Herman; her two
sons, Sig. Phillip Morris Crouse and Cpl. William John Thomson;
sisters Nina Conrad, Vilda Ross, Madeline (Madge) Meade, Joyce
Doucette, Annie Stewart; brothers St. Clair Crouse, Jack MacLeod and
Kingsford MacLeod.
Anita is happy to say without good friends Vida and Arnold
Langille and Leana Shantz, Anita’s last years would not have
been so good.
In lieu of flowers, donations for Maple Grove Cemetery in
Chelsea would be appreciated.
